The biggest time skip between books of the main series is Magic Binds to Magic Triumphs, with almost 2 years going by between Kate and Curran’s wedding and their adventures with a 13-month-old Conlan. Their adventures in the main KD series span approximately 5 years, with the battle of Atlanta from Magic Triumphs taking place in the summer of 2045. When we first meet them, in the early 2040s, Kate is mid-20s and Curran close to 30. This is also around the time he found Hugh, so Hugh has a couple of decades on the rest of the main cast, although of course he was kept young through Roland’s magic.Ĭurran and Kate were both born in the same decade as the Shift, about 5 years apart.
