All books described honestly and accurately. Occasional small mark/spots of foxing to pages. Odd small mark/mild foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Boards are very good (having been well protected by the jacket) with a little pushing/bumping to corners, the odd very small mark and a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, few tears, few marks, creasing/rubbing to edges, patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), previous owner's name written in pen to front inner flap, pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, little foxing, a little patchy browning (including to spine), creasing/browning/minor foxing to front/back inner flaps, foxing/marks/browning to reverse (white side), pushing/bumping to corners, is a little fragile and is in only fair condition. Illustrated by Janet and Anne Grahame-Johnstone. True first British printing with original unclipped jacket (18s). Grahame-Johnstone, Janet Grahame-Johnstone, Anne (illustrator). The dust jacket will be protected with a new inert archival quality sleeve which is removable. without the sticker damage, it would be near fine but has been graded as very good. There is minor rubbing at the spine ends and very minor edge wear. The rear wrapper is also decorated with the same design. It is fairly minor and over the text rather than the illustration. Unfortunately, removal of a sticker has damaged the front wrapper. The 39 illustrations, endpapers and jacket artwork are all provided by the illustrators of the original publication. This edition closely resembles the original issue in 1967 and has its own vintage charm.

Illustrated endpapers and throughout the text by Janet and Anne Grahame-Johnstone. Chocolate brown boards with gilt titles to the spine. Crown Octavo 7½" by 5" (190 mm x 126 mm) approx.
